The narrow design of the front engine compartment makes it easier to see your work. The cooling system for the radiator/oil cooler module is hydraulically driven and located at the rear of the machine.

A dozer is a common type of construction equipment. The primary dozer uses include pushing, grading and leveling material. Dozer applications include earthmoving, grading, site preparation, road construction and landfill operations. Most dozers are designed with a tracked undercarriage to provide better traction and weight distribution over uneven terrain. The dozer blade pushes material and can be angled for precise work.  

Choosing a dozer for your grading and earthmoving needs may depend on your applications and job site conditions. DEVELON offers a low-ground pressure configuration for the DD100 and DD130 dozer. This configuration utilizes a track system that limits the pressure (psi) the machine applies to the ground. However, the standard track system DEVELON offers may be a better fit for applications where ground pressure is not a concern. Regarding grading and blade function, the DEVELON 2D grading system greatly reduces the workload and assists inexperienced operators. A 3D machine guidance and 3D machine control option is available for additional operator assistance and accuracy. A blade shake feature enables all skill levels an efficient way to clean material buildup on the blade.

The amount of weight a dozer can push can vary depending upon the model and configuration. A few of the variables impacting this are horsepower, machine weight and track configuration. DEVELON offers two models: the DD100 and the DD130. The DD130 is a larger model with more power, a larger dozer blade and more overall dozer blade capacity. Dozer safety is a top priority for DEVELON. Dozer training is recommended for new operators. Before doing any work, it’s important to conduct an inspection of the dozer, noting any repairs that need to be made. Always wear the seat belt when operating a dozer. Assess the ground conditions where the dozer is working, identifying any potential hazards. Activate the standard rearview camera for DEVELON dozers for enhanced job site visibility and safety.  

There are a variety of dozer blades and capacities available, depending on the dozer size. The dozer blade width and capacity is generally associated with the machine’s relative size. For example, a common blade width for small to medium-sized dozers is approximately 8 to 10 feet. The blade capacity range for this size of dozer is about 2 to 4 cubic yards. It’s best to check with your local DEVELON dealer to fit your dozer with the proper blade size.  

Dozer maintenance starts with regular inspections to ensure that the machine works well. Maintenance items include checking and filling fluids, changing filters, cleaning the cooling system and greasing lubrication points. Plus, be sure to maintain the dozer’s tracked undercarriage and keep it free of dirt and debris. Keep a maintenance log that documents inspections and dozer repairs.
