Our latest offering in the 40-ton class, the DX400LC-9 crawler excavator advances job site safety. The Virtual Walls (e-fencing) feature keeps operations safe by limiting the machine’s movement to specific distances that you set. 

For a full view of your surroundings, add the optional Smart around view monitor (SAVM) and human detection system (HDS). This setup uses six cameras, radar sensors and AI to provide a 360-degree view.

The E-Stop system automatically slows the machine when it detects a person within 13 feet and brings the machine to a complete stop when someone is within 6.5 feet.

Several innovative technologies on the DX400LC-9 help you get more work done in less time. The weighing system lets you easily monitor and manage volumes to ensure that dump trucks are loaded to their optimal capacities. Lift Assist and Advanced Lift Assist actively show you the machine’s current lifting capacity and alert you to potential tipping hazards. Breaker assist prevents blank firing, reduces wear on the machine and improves operator comfort. 

Work more accurately and efficiently with the factory-equipped 2D machine guidance and machine controls systems, providing guidance and grade control.

The DX400LC-9 crawler excavator’s redesigned cab features put you comfortably in command. The new joystick offers you the ability to personalize controls for maximum comfort and ease. It enhances movement with options like stick steer and thumbwheel steer in addition to traditional levers and pedals. The larger 12-inch high-resolution display monitor offers you an easy-to-use interface to access machine information and manage various functions. 

Automotive-style heat and air conditioning feature high-capacity vents and convenient control from the display monitor. Repositioned vents improve window defrosting performance.

From improved fuel efficiency to simpler self-maintenance, the DX400LC-9 offers several features to protect your uptime. Four power modes let you effectively balance fuel consumption and power based on your working conditions. The exclusive D-ECOPOWER™ system improves productivity and saves fuel. 

Ground-level access to all filters allows for easy access to regular inspection points. Advanced Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) technology lets you monitor critical components like hydraulic oil, engine oil and main pumps, helping you predict future maintenance needs to minimize downtime and lower service costs.
