World of Concrete attendees check out the DX42-7 mini excavator in the DEVELON exhibit.

Joe Estevez attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG in 2023 and visited our exhibit. It was his first experience with our brand. Less than a year later, Joe visited us again; this time it was at The ARA Show in New Orleans. His company, Skyblack Rentals, is now one of our newest dozer customers in North America.

You can research brands online, compare specifications, and even request a quote from some companies. But it’s hard to replace person-to-person interactions and networking opportunities at construction industry trade shows like World of Concrete, The ARA Show (American Rental Association) and World of Asphalt.

The first quarter of 2025 will be another busy one for trade shows. Here’s where we’ll be and the machines we plan to bring.

If you’re planning to attend a construction show in 2025, here are three ways to maximize your trip and your investment to explore the latest equipment and state-of-the-art technology.

Create a Pre-Trip Checklist

It’s always a good idea to research and confirm which manufacturers and supplies are participating. Create a schedule to prioritize your time at the show. Your agenda may include the following show features:

  • Competitions
  • Educational sessions
  • Exhibits
  • Keynote speakers
  • Special events

Set clear goals for what you want to achieve at the construction trade show. Are you there for educational sessions? Are you considering the purchase of a new machine or attachment in 2025? Is networking a priority?

Last but not least, don’t forget comfortable walking shoes. You’ll need them to keep your feet happy throughout the trade show.

Maximize Booth Visits

Make the most of your booth visits and networking opportunities with industry professionals by planning ahead. Many trade shows have online maps showing you where exhibitors are located.

World of Concrete is a premier event for the construction industry. The show covers the concrete and masonry industries, and targets contractors working in residential construction. Many of the earthmoving equipment manufacturers are grouped in a similar area, which can help you make the most of your time.

Exhibitors often announce in advance which cutting-edge equipment, such as crawler excavators and wheel loaders, will be on display. This may be a great opportunity to sit in a machine, even if you can’t demo it in the exhibit hall. For example, climb into a mini excavator and get a feel for the operator comfort features and visibility to the work area.

Come prepared with questions about machines in the exhibit or other equipment that may interest you.

It’s a good idea to take notes when you visit exhibits — whether you use a notebook and pen or a digital tool like an iPad.

Take note of:

  • Company name and contact information
  • Product or service that interests you
  • Pricing (if applicable)
  • Questions for follow-up later
  • Next steps

Follow up After the Show

Upon returning from a trade show, organize your notes and contact a local dealer for more information. If an exhibitor scanned your badge at the show, you may likely be contacted shortly after you return. The person contacting you may be from your local dealer. If not, be sure to inform your dealer what product or service you’re interested in learning more about.

A good way to stay in touch with your local dealer is via email and social media. Sign up to receive emails about future sales program offers. Follow companies like ours and your local dealer on social media for the latest product and service updates.

There are so many benefits to attending construction industry trade shows. Maybe you’re someone like Joe Estevez and are still new to our brand. If so, I encourage you to visit our exhibits in 2025 at World of Concrete, the ARA Show, and World of Asphalt.

Networking is not just about connecting; it’s about building relationships.”
